About Me

My name is Mrs. Becky and I teach third graders in West Tennessee.  This will be my 8th year of teaching third grade.  I took a 9 year maternity leave to be home with my babies but 4 years ago came back into the classroom as a teacher.  I have loved every minute of it!

I teach primarily ELA - English Language Arts - to third graders in the morning while my amazing partner teacher teaches math.  In the mornings for RTI time, I teach informational text with science incorporated into this system. Then, in the afternoon, I teach social studies with writing embedded into this system.

In reading, we use a program called Read Well.  I really enjoy teaching it. It is a program that takes the kids were they are and moves them at their own pace.  In essence, I teach 6 reading classes depending on where my children are at the beginning of the year.

I am going to be using this blog as a way to connect with other teachers, but my students will also be using this blog to prepare them for their testing which will be online.  My partner teacher and myself will be posting on here (with links to those posts located under reading, math and social studies) for them to click, read and then comment.

I am always looking for new ways to incorporate technology and new ideas into my classroom.  Thank you for visiting!

Just trying to cook up some success . . .
Mrs. Becky
